Adopt-a-Grandparent: Veterans Edition
Our mission is to connect veterans and veteran spouses with a volunteer “adopter” (preferably one that is part of the military community) to create a lasting relationship that will help ease the effects of loneliness that may accompany a transition into an assisted living facility.
Adopt-a-Grandparent: Veterans Edition was founded by Melissa Johnson, a military spouse. Through conversations with retiree spouses, Melissa discovered there was a real disconnect between veterans & veteran spouses and the active duty military community. With this program, we hope to bridge that gap and reconnect those service members who came before us (and their spouses) to that familiar community of spouses and troops they once knew so well.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day: Window Photo Shoot
In conjunction with Military Spouse Appreciation Day, the organization did a window photo shoot project. These are all veteran spouses in a local nursing home from a window photo shoot project. The COVID-19 restrictions changed the way they did the photo shoot, but the photos captured the spouses beautifully.
