A new book for military families is part of "The Military Child Chronicles" series written by author Athens E. Pellegrino. "Mission: Mistletoe is the second story in The Military Child Chronicles. This series was created to serve as a resource and tool for military families. The holiday season can be difficult for military families. Often, geographical separation and distance can leave military families feeling isolated and displaced."
Not everyone is able to be home for the holidays. This book helps us realize that although our family may not all be together during the holiday season, things may not always go as planned. You are still able to enjoy the holidays with those who surround you.
"That's what inspired me to write this book because it highlights how families might not always be able to spend the holidays with their loved ones, but if they look around, they actually have a community wherever they are and can still have fun and spread joy that way," Pellegrino said.
"A young boy, Atticus, experiences his first Christmas away from his grandparents in a new location. The story creatively depicts the challenges and complex emotions that military children may face during the holiday season and offers adaptive solutions to an adverse climate. Mission: Mistletoe also provides family activities to help build excitement and comradery in a military community. Come join Atticus as regains his holiday spirit and saves Christmas!"
This book makes the perfect holiday gift for families with small children. Pellegrino features parenting tips and activities throughout the book. It is available for purchase on Amazon just in time for Christmas!
