Amy Rivera is a school counselor, mom, and military spouse. She combined what she loves with who she is to make her first children’s book, “Milly’s PCS Worries.” As a school counselor, she has a passion for working with children and helping them cope with their feelings; combining this passion with her experience of being a military spouse made for a great children’s book geared towards military children and their feelings towards moving.

Every few years, military families go through a permanent change of station (PCS) that affects the service member and everyone in their family unit, including their children. Significant changes like a PCS can be difficult for a child to comprehend. Amy knew she wanted her first book to tackle this subject so children can relate to and benefit from it.

The Inspiration Behind Milly’s PCS Worries
Using her own two children, Izaiah and Amelia, as inspiration for the book’s characters, “Milly’s PCS Worries” really takes the reader into the mind of a military child. Amy believes this book will be an excellent resource for military families everywhere.
